TEACHERS DAY CELEBRATION AND FELICITATION TO OUTSTANDING STUDENTS.
The Catholic Sabha of Pangla Parish felicitated 39 teachers of the Parish and 29 students who received highest marks in their studies on the occasion of the teachers day celebration. This felicitation programme was held on the 31st of August, 2014 in the Community Hall. Fr Vincent Coelho, the Principal of St John’s PU College was the President and Mr John P. Mendonca was the Chief Guest of the Programme.
The President of the Catholic Sabha, Mrs Juliet D’Souza welcomed the gathering. Br Rolwin Fernandes invoked the presence of God through a prayer. Mr John Lobo gave an introductory speech on the importance of the programme. Mrs Regina Mendonca introduced the Chief Guest to the gathering. Then Fr Vincent felicitated Mrs Irene Noronha who retired after completing 36 years serving as a teacher. He then congratulated the outstanding students and the teachers of the parish. The Chief Guest highlighted the greatness of a teacher in the life of a student and wished the students for their academic excellence. Miss Nikitha Gaga and Mrs Clara Mendonca let out their feelings of gratitude on behalf of the students and teachers respectively. The Secretary Mrs Anitha D’Souza extended her sentiments of gratitude. Mrs Flavia Menezes knitted the whole programme in an organized manner. Mr Mark Vaz and Mrs Simmy D’Souza were present for the felicitation programme. The parents of the students expressed their happiness by their participation.
