The Catholic Sabha of St John the Evangelist Church, Pangla and the ‘Sarva Dharma Sauhardha Samithi’ jointly organized a ‘Christmas Celebration’ on the 22nd of December 2014 near the Church premises. The programme began at 6:30 pm. At the outset, there was the inauguration of the ‘Sarva Dharma Sauhardha Samithi’. The stage was occupied by the leaders of three communities namely Most Rev. Dr Gerald Isaac Lobo, the Bishop of Udupi diocese, Rtn. A S N Hebbar, Jornalist, Laywer, Kundapura, Mr Akbar Ali, Trustee, President Karnataka Shamiyana Okkoota,Bangalore. along with Fr. Leslie D’Souza, the Parish Priest of Pangla. The call for oneness and solidarity among the various religions was the message given uniformly by them. The I.C.Y.M organization of the Pangla parish arranged a tableau depicting the Christmas Story. The Tableau went all the way from Katpady to Shirva Manchakal and gave shows at three destinations. Then there was a cultural programme consisting of Carols singing and dance by the children and youth of Christa Mahima Church, Manipura. The whole programme was filled with the joy of Christmas. Around 600 people along with the parishioners gathered to celebrate the Birth of Jesus with a fraternal spirit. Everyone was elated by the Christmas Celebration. The programme ended at 9:00pm. The Event turned out to be a great success with the help and co- operation rendered by the ‘Sarva Dharma Sauhardha Samiti’ members and the Parishioners.
