The ceremony of Maundy Thursday was celebrated at St John the Evangelist Church, Pangala, Shankarapura, on the 29th of March, 2018. It started at 6:30 pm with the Eucharistic celebration. The Mass was presided over by Rev. Fr Vincent Coelho, Pricnipal St John’s P U College, shankerpura and concelebrated by Rev. Fr Ferdinand Gonsalves the Parish Priest, Rev. Fr Lawrence Mendonca and Rev Fr Royson fernandes the asst. parish priest. After the proclamation of the word of God, Fr Vincent coelho briefed about the significance of Eucharist in the life of Christians and the sanctity of Priesthood. He also gave a call to be service- minded like Christ. After the sermon, Fr Vincent coelho washed the feet of the 12 parishioners, 6 men and 6 women signifying the washing of the feet of the Apostles by Jesus Christ, The prayers of the faithful were prayed for the cause of various intentions. After the Mass, adoration was conducted by asst parish priest Rev Fr Royson Fernandes. The liturgy was compered by Br. Jithesh Castelino. The Parish choir elated our devotion during the entire Liturgy. after the transfer of the Holy Eucharist to the altar of repose, wardners conducted the adoration of the Blessed Sacrament.
