Celebration of the Feast of Our Lady Nativity at Pangla Parish
Parishioners Celebrated the feast of our lady of nativity also knows as Monti Feast on Tuesday September 08, 2015. The feast marks Celebrating the Birthday of Mother Mary and is also the Harvest Festival of Catholics in the Coastal belt. For the last 9 days children & parishioners participated in the NOVENA and offered flowers to mother mary. Today at 7.30. a.m. after the offering of flowers in front of grotto to mark the celebration of ‘Birthday of Mother mary’ parishioners went in procession to the church for celebrating the holy mass. The Holy Mass was concelebrated by Rev. Fr dr Peter D’Souza, ( Pasatoral director of mangalore diocese, bajjodi ) along with Rev Fr Dr Lselie C. D’Souza (parish priest Pangla) , Rev Fr Lawrence Mendonca and rev fr Vincent Coelho (principal, St john’s P U College, Shankerpura). Parish priest wished all the parishioners including who are staying abroad, a very happy & blessed feast of our Lady of Nativity. On the occasion of this feast, ICYM & YCS will be organized sports & games in the afternoon to all the parishioners. All the 21 wards participated in all events, running races for all ages, as well as shot put for men & women, slow cycle race jr & Sr, bombing the city, breaking the pot for men & women separately. Ward wise Tug of war event conducted, in the last prizes were distributed to winners by Mr Mark Vaz , (Vice President, Parish Council) & Mrs Simmy D’Souza, ( Secretary, Parish Council) and the overall champions are St John’s Wards.
