Catholic Sabha Shankerpura Unit organizes, Vanamahotsava’
Keeping in mind the green revolution and preservation of nature, the Catholic Sabha, of Shankerpura Unit along with the Parishioners’ of St. John The Evangelist Church, Shankerpura, on the occasion of Independence Day organised ‘Vanamahostava’ on Tuesday, 15th August 2017 at their Church premises.
The Spiritual Director of Catholic Sabha, and Parish Priest Rev. Fr. Ferdinand Gonsalves inaugurated the programme by planting a fruit sapling. Fr. Ferdinand Gonsalves in his inaugural speech appreciated the members of Catholic Sabha for their initiative and affords. Also present on the occasion Rev. Fr. Vincent Coelho, Principal of St. John’s P.U. College and Assistant Parish Priest Rev. Fr. Royston Fernandes.
The event was well organised by the President, and members of Catholic Sabha was attended by parishioners in large number. Several fruit saplings of all kinds and different varieties were planted in the selected spots within the campus of the Church and its Educational Institutions.
At the beginning the President of Catholic Sabha, Mrs. Flavia Menezes welcomed the Parish Priest, guest and members of all committees and thanked them for their participation. The Catholic Sabha Secretary Mrs. Veena D’Souza proposed the vote of thanks.
The entire programme was compeered by Mr. Gregory D’ Souza and monitored by Mr. Victor Martis. The fruit saplings of various types were handed over to the Parishioners after the programme.
