The Church of St John the Evangelist ,Pangala celebrated the ‘Catechism Sunday’ on March 1, 2015. The day started with the Eucharistic Celebration at 9:30 am. The Mass was celebrated by Parish Priest, Rev Dr Leslie D’Souza. During the homily he highlighted the role of Catechism and the Truths of the Bible in the life of the Faithful.Then there followed a felicitation programme of the School Toppers and the students who received distinction at the Diocesan Level Catechism exam in the 7th and the 10th standard respectively.
After the Mass there was a small cultural programme and the prize distributing ceremony of the Church Catechism Exams. Around 120 students received prize in Full attendance and many others in the written exam. Fr Vincent Coelho, Fr Leslie D’Souza, Mr Mark Vaz, Mrs Simmy D’Souza, Mrs Agnes D’Sa, Br Rolwin Ferrnandes, Sr Winnie were present in this programme. Students presented a colourful variety entertainment programme comprising of Skit, Dance, Song etc. Parents also accompanied their children to this programme. The whole programme was compered by Mr Renson Alva. The whole Programme was overseen and meticulously organized by the Catechism Cordinator of the Parish, Mrs Linet Castelino.
