Bon Density and Blood grouping Camp

Bon density & Blood Grouping Camp was organized by Health Commission & Catholic Sabha of St John the evangelist church, Shankerpura
Health Commission and Catholic Sabha of Pangla Church jointly organized awareness and health checkup camp about Diabetes Mellitus, blood grouping andbone density on May 8th at Parish community Hall, from 9 am – 1 pm.
St. John’s Pre University College Principal Rev. Fr. Vincent Coelho, resource persons of the day Mr. P A Bhat and Dr. Seetharam Mitantaya, Elect President of Catholic Sabha Mrs. Flavia Menezes, Secretary Mrs. Alice Rodrigues, parish council vice president Mr. Mark Vaz and secretary Mrs. Simmy D’Souza, Dr. Edward Lobo, Chairman and Mrs. Leena Sequira secretary, health commission were present on the dais.
Dr. Edward Lobo welcomed the gathering and gave a brief introduction about the camp. The camp was inaugurated by Rev. Fr. Vincent Coelho by lighting the lamp and highlighted the importance of the camp. Mr. P A Bhat spoke about the importance of blood grouping and its importance during pregnancy. Dr. Seetharam Mitantaya spokeon the causes, signs and symptoms, management and complications of Diabetes Mellitus. He also stressed on the importance of controlling blood sugar. Dr. Vishnue Mohan Venkatesh and Dr. Nikhil cleared doubts and queries about blood sugar and bone density. Vote of thanks was proposed by Mrs. Veena D’ Souza.
Blood grouping andbone density assessment was done by the experts. Total150 (Bone density) and 100 (Blood Grouping) participants were present for the test. Individual queries about bone density were answered. Liver function test, renal function test, thyroid function test, Fasting lipid profile tests were done at half the market price based on individual demand. Blood pressure monitoring was done for all the participants.
