Members of Catholic Women’s Association, Women’s commission and self help group in a joint venture organized ‘A day in Aati month’ programme on 6th August 2018.
Parish Priest and the spiritual Director of the unit Rev. Fr Ferdinand Gonsalves, Diocesan Director of Catholic Women’s Commission, Rev. Fr Reginald Pinto, President of central council Mrs Janet Barboza, Superior of Sacred Heart Convent Sr Prescilla Mathias, Parish Pastoral Council secretary Mrs Clara Mendonca, 18 Commission Co-Ordinator Mrs Seema Margaret D’Souza, President of the unit Mrs Treeza Machado, Secretary Mrs Carmine Sequeira and presidents of 17 self help group were present on the dais.
Parish Priest Rev Fr Ferdinand Gonsalves symbolically inaugurated the programme by cutting the jack fruit. In his message he invited the congregation to lead a healthy life by consuming the natural food sources available in the nature. Fr Reginald Pinto explained the importance of consuming the healthy food, a practice that has been descended from our ancestors. Mrs Janet Barboza explained the co-relation between the man and the nature. Cultural items like folk dance were presented by the members. 225 women from our parish attended the programme. This programme was first of its kind in the Parish and received wide appreciation. Mrs Treeza Machado, the President of women’s association welcomed the gathered. Mrs Linet Castelino, the president of self help group proposed the vote of thanks. Mrs Linet Fernandes compered the programme. Sumptous vegetarian meal prepared by the members was served after the programme.
