11th Diocese Level Konkani Singing competition was held in St John’s Church, Shankerpura Organized by ICYM Shankerpura. Parish Priest Rev Fr Dr Leslie D’Souza Inaugurated the competition, Animator Clara Mendonca, Superior Jaya Sacred heart Convent , Mark Vaz Parish council Vice President, Simmy D’souza Secretary and Rev Fr Vincent Coelho Principal St, John PU College Shankerpura. was present. The judges were Anil Patrao Derebail, Ivy D’Souza Kulshekar and Sachin Sequeria Gurpur. Competition were conducted under following catagories; Under 15 years solo girls & boys and group singing, Above 15 Solo Men & Women , Duet & group.
Vicar General Msgr Baptist Menezes , was the chief guest for the Closing Ceremony and Prize distribution Rev Fr Edwin D’Souza ,youth Director of ICYM Udupi diocese, Fr Vincent Coelho , Principal of St John PU College , Leslie D’Souza , Animator Clara Mendonca , Parish council Vice President Mark Vaz, Secretary Simmy D’Souza and the Judges. Present at the ceremony, Msgr Baptist Menezes appreciated ICYM Shankarpura Unit and Parish priest Leslie D’souza for their hard work and also he congratulated the participants.
A brief introduction about judges was given by Anil D’Sa. President Of ICYM Shankarpura Chris D’Mello welcomed the Gathering, Vote of Thanks was proposed by ICYM Shankarpura Secretary Jesna D’sa , Winners List was announced by Dylan Martis, Hezel D’Souza and Joyce Martis. Programme was compeered by Riya D’Souza. Overall programme was grand success with a crowd of 600 people.
